Handbook of Price Guide

Have you ever wondered if you might have a hidden treasure in your home? And if you did - would you recognise it? It could be that dented old oil tin tucked away at the back of the garage (some of them are worth hundreds of dollars), or it might be an old Barsony lamp you had in the '70s (they sell for around $600 now). And did you know you could sell an old box of Bex powders for $70? Even the most unusual things can be collectable.... There's no telling what a collector might want!
If you've got anything vintage, retro or antique at your place, we can probably help you find out its value... all you need is The Carter Sisters Handbook & Price Guide to Antiques, Collectables, Vintage & Retro in Australia. We've got limited copies of the 2017/18 Edition available for just $64 including delivery (no more to pay).
Want to know the value of the Moorcroft vase your mum loved so much? It's on page 243. Got an old plastic model of an FJ Holden lurking in the back cupboard? It could make you $1300 (page 302). Or maybe you've hung on to a 1960s chrome and laminate kitchen dining set... in which case hang on to your hat because it could come in at $2000 (page 441).
This hugely informative book contains accurate descriptions and prices of more than 5500 items individually illustrated in full colour. All of the items in the book have been sourced from the Australian market from more than 140 contributors, so you know you're getting the true Australian value. And we've made it really easy to navigate, with items grouped into 27 major sections and more than 68 sub-sections, so you can drill down and find the exact information you're looking for.
With The Carter Sisters Handbook & Price Guide to Antiques, Collectables, Vintage & Retro in Australia you can find out the value of your items without leaving home, and without the hassle of having someone come to your house. It really couldn't be easier.
But wait, there's more! This hard cover, 544 page high quality full colour book also contains more than 300 snippets and current record prices, specialist market overviews, important results from selected specialist auctions and expanded categories for items that are part of growing markets.

Collecting on a Shoestring

If you're planning to go to a garage sale, boot sale or op shop, or cruise around on eBay or Gumtree in the next couple of weeks, we've got a surefire way to make sure you don't miss out on hundreds of bargains!
It's a handy little book called Collecting on Shoestring and it gives you the current market prices - with pictures - of more than 1800 items you're more than likely to come across, and that means bargains you're going to miss if you don't know their value! For example, an old Sydney water bottle could be worth $175... but the garage sale person will probably think it's a worthless old bottle. Those old plastic tin tops for oil that people threw away? Easily worth $140 each (and a lot more for the rare ones). Or what about an old hairdryer from the 1960s, with a $5 price tag at the op shop down the road - snap it up and sell it on for $70. Have a good look at those toys that are always on display at the boot sales, too - old golliwogs can be worth over $100 and even those ugly Mecki dolls sell for around $90.
With Collecting on a Shoestring you'll be able to spot a bargain every weekend. A handy size to slip in your bag, it features more than 1800 unique antique, vintage and retro collectables, and everything in it is priced from $3 to $200. It's essential reference because it gives you the current market prices of items you're more than likely going to come across, and bargains you're going to miss if you don't know their value!
Everything is grouped into sections - Under $50, Under $100, Under $150 and Under $200 - in this soft cover, 208 page full colour book. It really couldn't be handier.

Australian Beer Posters

If you love beer, we've got the perfect book for you.
Michael Bannenberg spent 30 years working in beer advertising, creating iconic Australian beer brands and their advertising campaigns. The most graphic advertising items were the beer posters with their unique social context. Michael loved them so much, he started collecting them and the result is the book Australia's Beer Posters. It's a showcase of the history of beer advertising from the 1860s to the 2000s, with 160 unique posters, showcards and billboards that have been selected from Michael's large collection of more than 2500 advertising point-of-sale items covering a broad range of breweries in every state and territory. To put the posters in context, historical notes and tales are spread throughout the book, giving a bigger and more interesting snapshot of those early days. Australia's Beer Posters is hard cover, 156 pages all in glorious colour, A3 size. Limited Edition.
